As promised, Asus announced the presence of the ROG Phone 6 and ROG Phone 6 Pro at an online event.
This time, the two new gaming phones from Asus are equipped with Qualcomm's latest processor, the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1.
Like last year's ROG Phone series, the difference between the standard version of the ROG Phone 6 and the Pro model is the RAM and the ability to program the display on the AMOLED screen on the back of the phone.
The ROG Phone 6 Pro is equipped with 18GB of RAM, while the standard model is only equipped with 12GB and 16GB of RAM.
Both ROG Phone 6 both appear using a 6.78-inch AMOLED screen, a resolution of 1080 x 2448 pixels, and a refresh rate of 165Hz.
Yup, ROG Phone 6 is an Android phone with a refresh rate of up to 165Hz.
Even though it already supports a high refresh rate, Asus still gives users the option to change the refresh rate to 60Hz, 90Hz, 120Hz, or 144Hz.
As mentioned, the two new Asus phones already use the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 processor.
ROG Phone 6 performance will be supported by 12/16GB LPDDR5 RAM, and 16GB for ROG Phone 6 Pro.
Unfortunately, Asus again does not provide a microSD slot to increase storage capacity on both phones.
Therefore, users must be content with their Android phones with storage capacities ranging from 256GB and 512GB.
ROG Phone 6 . Cooling System and Camera
In the ROG Phone 6 series, this Taiwanese company made major changes in terms of the cooling system which is claimed to be able to reduce the temperature of the cellphone by up to 10 degrees Celsius.
The company is also still using the programmable ultrasonic AirTrigger button like the previous ROG Phone series.
ROG Phone 6 features two front-facing speakers, three microphones, Dirac Virtuo spatial audio, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
Interestingly, Asus is now able to include IPX4 certification so that it can survive when exposed to liquid splashes.
In terms of cameras, the company upgraded the main lens of the ROG Phone 6 by using a 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor.
Asus also includes a 13MP ultrawide lens and a 5MP macro, while for selfies it's 12MP capable.
ROG Phone 6 Battery and Price
ROG Phone 6 and 6 Pro still use battery technology with a capacity of 6,000mAh separated by two, each of which has a power of 3,000mAh.
Not to forget, Asus also still maintains two USB-C battery charging ports which are under and on the side of the phone body.
Regarding software, the ROG Phone 6 series is already using the Android 12 OS with ROG UI and Zen UI.
As friends for playing games on mobile phones, Asus has also introduced a row of their iconic accessories, such as the AeroActive cooler 6, ROG Kunai gamepad, ROG Cetra True Wireless, and Cetra True Wireless.
Then what about the price of the two phones? ROG Phone 6 12/256GB and 16/512GB sell for 999 euros (Rp 15 million) and 1149 euros (Rp 17 million).
Meanwhile, the ROG Phone 6 Pro with 18GB RAM and 512GB memory sells for 1299 euros or around Rp. 20 million.
Unfortunately, Asus did not reveal exactly when the two ROG Phone 6 will be available on the market.
